Adam Jensen's story as an artist is the kind that starts young and never really stops moving. He grew up in Boston, began as a classically trained pianist at eight, picked up guitar the moment he saw Kurt Cobain on MTV at twelve, and played his first real gig at fifteen on the city's piers. By his mid-twenties he was opening for Bon Jovi at Gillette Stadium. The trajectory has kept accelerating.

His early career took a significant turn in 2009 when he was recruited by Toucan Cove and Universal Records to anchor a new band called Mission Hill. Over the next several years, the project released two full-length albums and three EPs, establishing Jensen as a fixture in the alternative rock world and giving him the kind of relentless road experience that shapes a performer. He has spoken of gigs all over the world during this period, and the work extended behind the scenes as well: his collaborators over the years have included Rob Thomas, Stan Lynch of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Walt Aldridge, and Eliot Sloan, a network of co-writers that reflects the serious craft he brings to the work.

The transition to his solo releases produced some of his most resonant material. "The Mystic," his 2016 single, was premiered by Billboard and went on to win the New England Music Award for Song of the Year in 2017. Jensen has also been recognized with an LA Music Award for Songwriter of the Year, honors that reflect how his reputation as a writer has grown alongside his presence as a performer. He has opened for Kid Rock, Train, Tim Reynolds, and Third Eye Blind, a touring resume that cuts across genres and speaks to an instinct for connection with audiences of all kinds.

His recording "You'll Never Walk Alone," co-written with Kevin Martin of Candlebox, is among his most meaningful releases: a tribute to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing, with all proceeds directed to the ONE Fund. The song brought together Jensen's Boston roots and his ability to write music that holds weight without overreaching.

More recent releases like "I'm a Sucker for a Liar in a Red Dress" and "I Can Hold a Grudge Like Nobody's Business" carry a wry, lived-in quality. The titles announce themselves with a kind of knowing humor while the music delivers something harder to shake. "The Hunter," which appeared in 2018 co-produced with Christian Medice, adds texture to a catalog that keeps finding new angles on familiar territory: desire, stubbornness, survival, the long memory.

Jensen works in a tradition of alternative rock that values the song above the spectacle, and he has spent enough time in the room with some of the finest writers of the last few decades to have absorbed that lesson completely. The result is a catalog built for the long haul: recordings that reward return listens and a live presence forged by years of stages that taught him exactly how to fill them.
