Body to Body

BTS, known in Korean as Bangtan Sonyeondan or Bulletproof Boy Scouts, made their debut on June 12, 2013 under Big Hit Music with the single album "2 Cool 4 Skool" and the anthemic lead track "No More Dream." The seven members, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, built their early identity around a shared concept of resisting societal pressures aimed at young people, and from the start their work carried a directness and emotional honesty that set them apart across the K-Pop landscape.

Their rise was marked by a series of increasingly ambitious projects. The "Most Beautiful Moment in Life" era brought the group their first music show wins in 2015, and albums like "Dark & Wild" and "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever" built a devoted global fanbase known as ARMY. The group's storytelling across those releases, weaving together themes of youth, identity, mental health, and social expectation, resonated with listeners far beyond South Korea.

By 2018, BTS had accomplished something unprecedented: their album "Love Yourself: Tear" became the first K-Pop album to top the Billboard 200, opening at number one and confirming their status as one of the most consequential acts in modern pop. That momentum carried through a run of singles that brought them even wider recognition. "Dynamite," released in 2020 as their first song recorded entirely in English, climbed to number one on the Billboard Hot 100. "Butter" followed in 2021 and repeated the feat, spending multiple weeks at the top of the chart.

Between 2022 and 2025, the members of BTS fulfilled South Korea's mandatory military service requirement. Suga, the last to complete his service, was discharged in June 2025, and the anticipation surrounding the group's reunion was matched only by what they delivered when it arrived.

Their comeback as a full group came in March 2026 with "ARIRANG," their tenth studio album and their first full-group release in more than three years. The album's lead single "SWIM" is a dreamy, expansive track that returned BTS to the top of the Billboard Hot 100. "Hooligan," a rebellious, high-energy cut co-written by RM, J-Hope, and Suga, became the group's live showcase moment of the year, including a show-opening performance at the 2026 American Music Awards that reaffirmed just how fully they command a massive stage. "Come Over" offers a more intimate counterweight within the album, leaning into melody and warmth.

On Divehouse, BTS's presence draws across the full arc of what they have built. "Butter" and "Dynamite" remain touchstones for listeners who found the group during their most globally saturated period. "SWIM" and "Hooligan" document what comes after: seven people who have grown through years of extraordinary shared experience, who stepped away when duty called and returned with something to say. The through-line is the same commitment to craft and emotional authenticity that made "No More Dream" worth paying attention to in the first place.
