Days Spent are a hardcore band from Port St. Lucie, Florida, and they have been building something careful and consistent since forming around 2019. The members bring collectively more than fifteen years of involvement in Florida hardcore, with prior work in Barriers Now Bridges and Incited providing a foundation that shows in the precision and purpose of their current material. Florida has a long history of producing serious hardcore, and Days Spent are working within that tradition while developing a perspective that belongs specifically to them.

Their sound operates in the space where thrash-influenced riffing meets classic hardcore structure, with 2-step rhythms and raw vocals that cite Slayer, Terror, and Defeater as touchstones. The influences point toward music that is direct and physical, but what makes Days Spent compelling beyond the sonics is the clarity of what they choose to write about. The vocalist has been explicit in interviews about committing to social themes: manipulative behavior in social circles, feminist perspectives within the hardcore community, and the devastation of substance-related loss. These are not abstract subjects dressed up in genre conventions; they are specific commitments that give the music its weight.

Their catalog has developed through a series of EPs that document a band getting sharper and more focused with each release. Snakes and Ladders (2020) and Tourist (2021) established their presence and approach. Grieve/Thrive (2023) deepened both. "Best Wishes," which comes with an official music video, addresses the specific harm caused by people who spread false narratives within social circles, making something precise and confrontational out of a kind of harm that often goes unnamed. "Memorial" addresses fentanyl deaths directly, with the clarity and weight that a subject like that demands when treated seriously. Both tracks demonstrate a band willing to be specific rather than safe.

The 2026 EP I Will Die on This Hill continues the trajectory with "Vicious Cycle" and "Mishandled Trust" extending the thematic territory the band has staked out across their catalog. "1000 Locusts" is among the recent material, a title that suggests the cumulative damage of persistent harm. The title of the EP itself, I Will Die on This Hill, is a declaration: there are things that matter enough to fight for without retreat.

Days Spent play hardcore that knows exactly why it exists and does not apologize for having a point of view.
